PEPPER is the main name I am researching and I'm calling for your help. If you are a Pepper or descended from a Pepper or know a Pepper I would like to hear from you please. Other family names are:- HANCOCK, HECKFORD, HEARNS, PEPPER, NOSSITER, ROLASON, REED, THOMPSON, WALSH, WAYTE. George Pepper born Middlesex, England c1801, married Frances Hodgkins, St Mary Magdeline Church Richmond Surrey, 19th September 1822. Frances baptised Wolverhampton Staffordshire 14 July 1803, parents Joseph and Ann Hodgkins. Pepper family were Baptists. They had thirteen children. George's parents William and Ann Pepper nothing more known. George and Frances arrived Sydney by ship," Euphrates" 5th August 1855. George was a bricklayer by trade and later moved to Parkes where Frances died 1876. George then moved bach to Sydney where he died in 1880. The children who came with them were Samuel Robert Pepper, Elizabeth Ann Pepper, Harriet Pepper, and John Edwin Pepper all born Hammersmith. George Pepper (Jnr) First born, was already in Australia: 1832 to 1904 a builder by trade - also born Brentford, Middlesex ENGLAND. A search of the shipping records showed George (Jnr) sailed Sept 1852 arriving Feb 1853 unaccompanied, at age 22, on the "South Sea" - Port of embarkation Liverpool, unassisted passage, destination Melbourne. (City Search Centre, Fiche No 030). He was in Melbourne when the rest of the family arrived in Sydney some two years later. George married Mary Ann Reed - a domestic servant residing at 24 Peel St, West Melbourne - birthplace Navern, West Meath, Ireland in 1870. Mary Ann died 1899 aged 54. George died 1904 Prahran Vic.
